Torrance Buntyn Jr., an emerging figure in classical music and orchestral percussion, has captivated audiences nationwidewith his unparalleled talent and artistry. His remarkable performance with the Pasadena Community Orchestra, showcasing Allan Gordon Bell's Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra, is a pinnacle of his achievements to date.

Originating from Jackson, Tennessee, Torrance's musical journey commenced at a young age, leading him to pursue a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance at Southern Methodist University – Meadows School of the Arts, taught by the Principal Percussionist and Principal Timpanist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, George Nickson and Brian Jones.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Torrance has graced prestigious festivals such as the Sewanee Music Center and the National Orchestral Institute, further honing his craft and expanding his musical horizons. His training as a film-scoring musician with the RISE Diversity Orchestra at Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles exemplifies his versatility and innovative approach to music-making.

Amidst his festival appearances and studio ventures, Torrance remains deeply committed to advocating for diversity and inclusion within the classical music sphere. His involvement with the Alliance of Black Orchestral Percussionists (ABOP) and the Network of Diversity in Concert Percussion (NDCP) underscores his dedication to amplifying underrepresented voices in the industry. Currently, Torrance is a Protégé for ABOP, being guided and mentored by highly distinguished artists in the orchestral percussion world, such as Raynor Carroll, retired Principal Percussionist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Douglas Cardwell, former Principal Timpanist of the New Mexico Philharmonic.
